While the work deals mostly with the theme of lost/sunken lands, paying most attention to the Atlantis of Plato and Donnelley, the third chapter is concerned entirely with the problems of living and working underwater. There are sections about the undersea environment, the conditions and difficulties at various depths, problems with decompression, temperature, etc. There are rules for redesigning humans for undersea life for a variety of campaign styles (fantasy, SF). There's a little modern-style equipment, and some rules for submarines, plus some sample sub designs (and rules) from the 1600 to 2100. There's also a big section on sonar and how it works. Of course, I'm not sure how much of this will make it into the final draft, but what I have seen has helped me with the ideas for Blue Planet very much. A number of the practical questions asked on this list were answered there. So, be on the lookout for Gurps Atlantis, I guess--if you're able to buy a book for one chapter, it's a good chapter. C.J. I'll be running a 6 player BP game on Sat(8/4) from 12pm-4pm. And before anyone asks, I can not move the game as I am booked solid for the rest of the convention. I wish that cloning techology would hurry up. I need a few more me's to run all the games that I want to at GenCon. I can't squeeze more than 42hours worth of games in and still have time for shopping. Hopefully this one will actually know how to write good tactical and character creation rules so we can dispense with using other systems for Shadowrun. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Iceman" To: "Jcml@Coffeehaus.
