A while ago, there was such a soundtrack posted on the list. Anyone have it? I could search through the archives, but that would take a while without a search feature. For my ideas: Whale Song for roleplaying moments. Dub/techno for action scenes(Dr. Israel?). Some eerie ambient music for the aborigines. Reggae in general. Maybe some African tribal music for the natives. Some good soundtrack action music for more fight scenes. Maybe some schlock-rock for the same purpose. Then, the Theme from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for GEO Marshall theme music. What else? I'll check my CD collection. I think many soundtracks could be ripped for a Blue Planet CD. Unfortunately, I never buy soundtracks :( As far the Abyss, the samples on CDnow sound interesting...as do a few for Hunt for Red October. Princess Mononoke doesn't come to the local theater for another few weeks...I'll comment then. > Yours, > Rob > @whitesalmon.net -Andy "He cried in a whisper at some image, at some vision,--he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath--'The horror! I hadn't thought of that idea at all (as I don't go for that sort of "music" personally otherwise). I'm more focused on the "water" part of "waterworld" for the moment, and music that will reflect that atmosphere -- somehow it fits in with the fact that one of my all-time favorite movies is The Abyss.... Which is what inspired my investment in BP in the first place. Which makes me think: perhaps the soundtrack from the Abyss might hold promise. Yes, I will definitely have to investigate this. Jason, you'll be happy to know you're not the only one who thought of dropping hydrogen cells out of a hopper and blowing them up. Well - it'd probably have to vary depending on where you were at the time: If you were in a native village, then possibly some "ethnic" type music would be appropriate. In some of the cities, the shadowrun-style Techno stuff would fit. Reggae would definately be the thing for places like Kingston. Etc etc. On the other hand, I'm sure that "waves-on-the-shore" sound effects would be a useful investment too.
