It is more difficult to classify and include them in your general model (which is what I am doing). Once you hit skill packages, you'll quickly understand that many packages give the player a choice between different skills and skill groups. My best advice is to first model your data, then create your front end. So I wrote a little script that updates the exchange daily. It is currently located at http://bdd.univ-lyon2.fr/~darmont/bp/exchange.php3, but this will change as soon as Bleue Plančte's provider re-enables PHP (the page is currently hosted on a server at work and I'm usually trying to avoid that :). Since I'm no economist (though I teach -computer science- to economics students :), the random model for increase/decrease is fairly simple and I'm ready to work on that with anybody who'd be interested. If Jim is interested in replacing the static page by this one (I adopted just the same look), there's no problem. Otherwise, I might have to add some FFG & BH copyrights, right? I think it's great that there's so much new material for BP is being created. Most game companies (W0C excluded) seem to think that putting out 1-2 supplements for a game per year is appropriate. It is refreshing to see you guys working so hard to get things out to players. Thanks! I was wondering if you could give us some hints about what is in the pipeline. Do you have a schedule of upcoming products somewhere on your web site? As a GM I like to know in advance what supplements are forthcoming so that (a) I don't develop my own material for something in the game which will be detailed in an upcoming supplement and, (b) I can make sure my credit card has enough room on it! Hey all, If any of you live near SW Wisconsin, Plattecon is being held this weekend at the campus of UWP. Information can be found at: http://www.uwplatt.edu/~gaming/plattecon/xi/index.html I only mention this as FFG will be attending and I don't want Greg to be driven insane by my players as they try and pump him for information concerning all of the secrets in the game. I don't know PHP at all, really, but I'm sure I could get the gist of it for this one purpose :) PS, PHP is enabled through Apache on my website, so if you'd like to get that off your work systems, I'd be happy to post it on my site. For instance, with REBOL, you can load a collection of data from a file, and execute it as REBOL code. Yes, that's an interesting idea... Though I'm sure the other players are less interested in hearing about programming concepts.. -C *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
