Hey Skewiff, I'm a big fan of the 40k game line myself (Epic actually). The techology of Blue Planet however, at least as written, is pretty near future stuff, following current scientific and R&D trends. Remember that there was a century long "dark age" during the Blight, and technological advancement in certain fields was not as great as it might otherwise have been. In BP, gravity is still a force beyond control, and therefore weapons like you propose would not be possible as the game is presented. OTOH, the cool thing about RPG's is that you can play them anyway you like, changing, adding, tweaking - doing whatever to make them fit your likes. In fact, in the intro, we tell players to do just that - make the game your own. As far as posting stats, and other game ideas - hey, go for it! That's one of the main uses we envisioned for this list. Post away... Normally they are called Shuriken Catapults in > 40K. > -- > Correct, but IMC I to thought they were a good idea, and so I used super Powerful electro-magnets to propel the shrukien (that is what the guns fire, hence the name :) ) this is not to difficult to do , as anyone who has built a home railgun and then fired it at somthing will tell you, If you do it right (which I didnt) you can get the gun to fire at 5m/s and its not that, big, However it doesnt go very far AND (and this is a big and) it uses up a LOT of power... so I guess guns like this would be rare...... But Im sure its within BP's tech level... OH BTW has anyone ever played a game called Terra Nova Strike force centari? I am doing a conversion for BP for it, and I think the PBA's (powerd Battle Armour) would make a great additon to the SS.. (Super Troopers, IMC the natives call them the SS :) ) Gladius Dei (converted Lurker) *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message. My temporary silence is not due to a lack of interest, but instead to a lack of access ; ). Please don't feel ignored if I don't get to your questions until after I return. Where am I going you ask? Well, if you must know, my shuttle leaves the Kansas City Freezone Spaceport tonight, and my transport leaves for Poseiodon at 1400 GT tommorrow. I'm afraid I'll be unable to bring back any biological specimens, or even a sample of xenosilicate - customs is pretty strick about those sorts of things. I will however, be bringing back some aquatic goodies that should end up on the website so stay tuned...
