It sounds like it is going to have lots of useful information on running outer island adventures, and it will include one scenario. Plus, another great cover. I can't wait to see it on the stands. Blue Planet's publisher, Fantasy Flight Games, produces a series of disk games such as Diskwars and RangeWars. They'll be producing disk games based on Twilight Imperium and Heavy Gear. In general, disk games are a lot cheaper than a traditional miniatures game. Also, you don't have to paint the disks and they are easier to transport than metal miniatures. To date, all of the disk games have been collectable, though they remain much cheaper than a game such as Warhammer. Check out www.diskwars.com for more information. I was actually thinking about Hong Kong and copyright/knock-off issues recently, and wondering about parrallels in BP. I could see Kingston as the new HK, with it's official independent status. I think you could run a very interesting plot with those elements. Then again, maybe I've been watching too many HK DVDs or reading too much Gunsmith Cats... I code for IE5, but it's only very occasionally that I use a 4.0+ browser convention ('course, most of my sites are optimized for my screen resolution, which is 1024x786, but I try to make it work in 800x600 as well if I can). ** This has spawned an interesting amount of return. I like it ;) However, I'm generally unconcerned about it myself. I run IE5.5, but all of my HTML is just that - plain HTML. I don't toss in frames and Flash and animated gifs and funky scripts and all that. I do plain text. MAYBE an occassional graphic, but highly rare. Mostly for speed loading. I set my personal site (yeah, I have my own site - domain and all) as my startup page and usually go from there to the rest of the world, and I'm only on a 56k modem. *shrugs* I say, sure, code a 'lite' version if you want to, but don't let that stop you from rolling your sleeves up and getting creative. -C -------------------------------------------------------------------- Mail2Web - Check your email from the web at http://www.mail2web.com/ . *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
