IRL based in London, UK, I'm a freelance Internet Security geek working for various Incorporat^H^H^HZaibatsu ;) My campaign's 5 players are Deputy Marshals and civilian GEO consultants working as an undercover investigations team for the GEO HCJ, tasked with the politically sensitive or contested-jurisdiction jobs that the Magistrates can't touch publically. Once they have resolved a case they either turn it over to the Patrol or Wardens as an anonymous tip, or in political cases, as a targeted leak to trusted media contacts. Initially based in Haven for final training, but to be deployed to Kingston or Nomad after that. It's a deep cover op, so the team-members went undercover while still on Earth, and their only Posidon-side contact is the Magistrate-At-Large(name escapes me without my notes here). I must chat to the GM's here who are running criminal or Incorp teams as we can play different sides of the same case :) Other interests - I'm also considering integrating elements of Jovian Chronicles's solar system and space tech into the game(to give the party spacer a richer background), and I might use the JC tactical vehicle rules, although FluMech's aren't bad. I've really enjoyed Deus Ex and would love to see the Tsunami conversion. Trawling the archive, I really liked the 7th day idea from Charles last week. So giant squid are Earth's aborig-equivalent Stewards! It makes so much sense, cthulhu ftagn ;) Andrew ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? If I don't have much else to do, it takes about a week to set up the average RPG book as HTML, complete with structure, illustrations and indices (and that's the correct spelling of the plural of 'index' by the way!). This is working from hard copy, which has to be scanned or transcribed, by the way. As an aside, experience has proved that while Acrobat files are fine for 'downloads' and things that people are going to print out, they are less popular for on-screen reading. I have often done a 'double act', where there is an HTML version of a document (completely hyperlinked) to read on the screen with a link at the bottom to an Acrobat version for those who wish to print it out. This might be a suitable approach for things like scenarios and player handouts in this mythical BLUE PLANET CD-ROM. Well - do you want one? Over to you. I am currently preparing a PBeM game of BLUE PLANET in which the characters will be LEOs sent to set up a police presence in an outlying and fairly lawless area of the planet. We maybe should start trading ideas... but if you want to do that, let's go off list as some of the players are here! Alternatively, you're welcome to play. Unfortunately as I live in Cheshire your game would be a bit far away! If any of the FFG or Biohaz crew are listening, Thanks for a wonderful setting - I wasn't originally planning on running another Sci-fi campaign for a while, but as soon as I opened the first book BP just grabbed me - a GM's Lesear effect :) > With the BP > 'death rules', this'd put a wonderous cramp into > people who like to 'shoot first and ask questions > later'. Hehehe. Yup. I aim to run it gunfire light and intrigue heavy. Shouldn't be too hard with my experienced Cthulhu group, who know the only thing guns are good for is signaling or suicide ;) Old undercover hand to rookie "this is for when you want to break the cover you've spent month's developing, unless you have to use it in maintaining your cover, in which case, good luck living with yourself" And if the party get too out of control, there's always GEO IntSEC to bring them up on review or hunt them down.
