Is there such a critter? I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I suspect that Speed doesn't scale all that much in biological organisms. In general, if it makes sense to worry about something's actions in a combat situation, it'll fall on the normal 1-100 scale. For example, an earthworm would clearly have low-scale speed, but you shouldn't be worrying about it's speed in the first place. The exception, of course, is movement rates, which can vary widely. These are handled separately, though. That said, if you have to have scaled Speed, I'd suggest something like this: * For each level of Speed scale below 5, add 5 to the number of rounds the creature must wait between actions. So, for example, a creature with Speed 4/100 would wait six rounds. * I would strongly recommend against Speed of scale greater than 5. If you can't deal with it by adjusting movement rates, you could allow the creature multiple attacks with a single action. Again, though, I don't think biological organisms are going to scale that highly for Speed. Machines, of course, are a different matter, but that's why they have things like "rate of fire." ;-) Hope this helps, Greg Benage Biohazard Games *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
