Then you have options like Deep Blue Sea, Azure Globe ( a word play on Blue Planet), or somethink as esoteric - Like Sandskrit, instead of Sanskrit. Robert N. Emerson p.s. The first month of the contest, it will be open to only those who read the mailing list. After that I will be announcing it to the world. (I kinda want a good running start before I open the flood gates) Before I let in the rest of the world, I would really like to get a good domain name so I don't have to use www.io.com/~tippy/blue_planet. The problem is I don't have any idea of what it should be. Although I had Blue Planet V2 for roughly . . . 9 months. I want to ask a couple of questions, then I'll probably leave some of you alone (okay, _most_ of you). I'm planning to start a new game at my local gaming shop and I have decided on two possibilities: either a D20 [Dungeons and Dragons, 3rd Edition] game based on _Henry the Fifth_, or a Blue Planet game. I'm leaning on the latter right now. My questions are: what makes your _blue planet_ games sucessful? What are your Campaigns like? And have you any luck for drawing players? And besides that: there are so many possibilities for a Blue Planet campaign, which one worked best for you? __________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape Webmail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com/ *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message. All of the characters belong to the Doer Detective Agency. (Doer is a 'fin) This way players can show up when they feel like it and it really doesn't matter if they miss a few sessions. I also write a newspaper for every session in which I introduce bits of the background and relate current events. I set the campaign start date back in 2198. This has allowed my to play up all the events that happen in 2199 so the players are a bit more aware of the conflicts. Also, the amount >of personal training to go into one of these things just to be able to run >it decently... Though that would keep a large amount of the chronically >horrendous controllers from behind the controls. 15 mi/gal is not uncommon for a number of not-so-efficient SUVs. And hey, if people are willing to buy SUVs and pay for gas... Last time I looked at it, I calculated that it would probably cost nearly the same, in gas, to carry 2 people or so a reasonable distance. A cheaper car would be better, but you also have the advantage of speed. I could make a 900 mile trip in 3 hours, rather than driving it at 15+. Granted, the technology rests on the cost coming down a _lot_ and computer control being very sophisticated, cheaply. Actually, what comes to mind for _me_ is not private ownership, but air-cabs. Imagine the death of airports, when you just go to a local plaza and pick up a skycab. Relatively little congestion.. maybe a website, so they know how to route their traffic. Hubs? Pshaw. That, IMO, would make some effective changes. Personal skycars... dunno. > It looks so yummy. Can I have one? :) > I do like this one part under 'Applications': >Initially introduced in the M400, four-seat model, the volantor technology >has the ability to be both scaled up to a six passenger, M600, or scaled >down to a one passenger, M100. Actually, it just strikes me as the perfect plane for Poseidon. Small, light, capable of landing in a wide variety of locations. Good smuggler craft, as well as functional craft for smaller locations that don't warrant fixed flights. -=Will _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message. Though our GM has been absent for the past month+... We're basically playing a closed session; the people we started with are the people we're using.
