I've been running BLUE PLANET off and on since the game came out, although the gaming group that I run has been playing 1/3 BP and 2/3 FADING SUNS over the recent months that we've gamed. From: Nezach [nezach@REMOVETHISearthlink.net] Sent: Friday, 01 May, 1998 21:50 To: blue_planet@MPGN.COM Subject: [BLUE PLANET] - Blue Planet is a Pyramid Pick Just wanted to let you lot know that Steve Jackson Games online Pyramid Magazine made Blue Planet a Pyramid Pick. A Pyramid Pick is something that SJG views as noteworthy in the gameing industry, or as they put it, "Gee, we wish we'd done that!". The highlights of the review are as follows (note: this is all copyrighted by SJG Games and is not an attempt to contest that copyright. Please don't hurt me for doing this, I have no money...) Blue Planet has a realistic, hard science feel. Unlike most science-fiction based games, it is heavily slanted toward biology and geology rather than physics or hardware. The creators have constructed a world of incredible detail, and they present each facet of the game in a clear, well-organized format. The book devotes sections to game history, political groups large and small, Incorporate States, sentient species and their place in the scheme of things, and reams of information on the planet's biological and physical makeup. Poseidon itself is a character in Blue Planet. I like this game because it is a view of the future which has more to offer than the standard space battles or cyberpunk decay. It is a thoughtful extrapolation of our current technologies, political agendas and way of life. I recommend Blue Planet to players in search of a multilayered world with abundant possibilities for exploration. Well anyway, I think those parts pretty much sum up why I like the game. I just think it is cool another gaming company feels the same way I do. In closing I would like to restate that I have no money :) -- Ndege Diamond ____________________________________________________ We are all here because we are not all there. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
