There's also the situation of trying to sift through the data gleaned. Sure
you can get comps to sort it, but they're still going to end up with so
many "anomolous readings" and "possible signs of habitation" that you'd
need an army to sort through it.

Leave the main roads and live a quiet life without any huge buildings, and
it should be pretty easy to get lost on Poseidon.
