Gus: On the subject of new backgrounds / professions how about this one... Illness ================================= Hi Gus, I like the idea of surfers using the Athlete Package, perhaps with a Novice in Arts & Entertainment. Hey, and don't forget that Poseidon also presents great opportunities for windsurfers. The Illness Background is included in the list of additional backgrounds from v.1 that have been revised for v.2 and made available at http://www.stormsurge.org Jeb _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message. Jeb> > Hey, and don't forget that Poseidon also presents > great opportunities for windsurfers. Yup. The Hyper Long Distance stuff I mentioned.....well scratch surfers and make it windsurfers...... In Fact I could imagine the Windsurf Board being a major tool of Poseidon Natives......my reasoning is that Boards are undoubtedly the fastest non-powered thing afloat (The World Sail Power record is held by a sooped up stock board beating multi-million dollar sailboats handsdown) which is a vital requirement in doging storms.....skillfully handeled it can deal with very bad weather...........and with the aid of collapsable rigs/memory plastic sails etc turns into a cargo carrying board easily. Big Cargo Boards would be doable as well. Our current usage is for pleasure, a serious work board would be a bit different. As the requirement for native watercraft is 'get me to where I want to go and then carry back what I get there' the windsurf board fits into the motor bike role very well. Allowing hunters to make trips to distant huting grounds quickly, check up on outlying pastures etc. Of course serious fishing will need a boat to carry large nets and the catch , and really long distance trips need food stores........but if you can drink salt water and fish for food ......you're only real lack is shelter from the elements (the Sun in Particular) but then Aquaforms are good at that also!! Doesnt work for Colonising trips as you cant take seed stock of plants or animals....
