I can really see windsurfing being a major native transport method. For cargo capacity a cargo tow pod wouldn't add too much drag, and for fishing you could just trail a hooked line, or even a mini-dragnet. And for the hi-tech types, a memorywire and electroflex plastic windsurf board would be an excellent low-signature fast infiltrator craft. Just have the surfer wear an intrusion suit to block the thermals and lie flat on the board whenever your personal ECM spots a radar sweep. When you land, switch on the electroflex deriz and the board & sail melt and reform into a suitcase or backpack module. First Guys ashore during Desert Shield/Storm were the Brit SBS (beating the US SEALS by mere mins) using high tech kyaks....radar absorbing laminates etc etc. Stealth Kyacks. Gives better cargo capcity than swiming even with sleds etc. And of course its damn near silent.......unlike Helo's/Jump craft which can be stealthy as all get out but still can be heard by the mk1 human ear. Normally a sub/swimmer aproach is better but the Gulfs a little on the shallow side meaning the large NATO nuke subs had to drop their infiltrators along way out. Con's with useful skill sets might be SHIPPED to Posieden to server their term at 'usefull to the community' work........of course their skills would have to balance the nature of their crimes. It might be cheaper to ship inmates to Poseidon than to imprison them. There are certainly a large number of non-violent crimes with long jail times. If those inmates are shipped to Poseidon, given some colonial training, they can easily start their lives over again at a reduced cost to GEO. Some violent criminals might be sent to Poseidon as well. It is rather common for a gang boss (in urban folklore at least) to continue to run his gang by passing orders via his lawyer. With Commcore being so common, a lawyer might not even be needed anymore. But if the gang boss was on another planet and it takes 2 weeks to exchange messages, the gang boss will quickly lose power. I must've driven past it before and never noticed it. Last night, at around 10:00 PM, while driving by it in a thunderstorm on my motorcycle, I noticed it. What's the point, you ask? Every time I saw the sign (and on the way back up to Charlottesville today) I read it as "World of Hurt". 3 hours on a motorcycle this morning and all I can keep thinking of is "world of hurt". And from now on I'm going to associate Hurt with World of Hurt at least until WoH comes out...
