A deal between Fantasy Flight and Steve Jackson Games has been inked and approved by Biohazard. SJG plans to publish GURPS Blue Planet this winter. This will be an adaptation of the BP rules and will have no bearing, impact, or effect on the regular release of Blue Planet supplements based on Synergy. Hopefully with their Traveller line and upcoming Transhuman Space line you'll get a bunch of converts. In any case, I'm sure once they see the GURPS book, they'll start buying the FFG/Biohazard version for the art. . . For some reason I hope there's no d20 version, though. The Blue Planet supplements will have the stats for GURPS too? I don't know if there is a possibility but I like the idea of Gold Rush to put apprendix with convertion for others systems. If for example, someone like the Blue Planet Setting but like more the Chaosium System, he can buy the supplements of BP and don't need to waste time to making convertions for Chaosium system because in some appendix there are the convertions notes. This can be done to others systems too. Wagner PS: Steve Jackson company have some financial problems no? They will have money to publishe a new GURPS book since they have many others in the print os playtesting? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg Benage" To: Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2001 9:54 PM Subject: [BLUE PLANET] - GURPS Blue Planet > Hey all, > > Okay, no big press release or anything, but I know some on the list > are interested. Transhuman space in particular could attract cross-over fans. As for conversions stats, put them in the GURPS books, keep the FFG/Biohazard books pure Synergy. As for SJG's financial problems, they had some accounting problems that went unnoticed for the better part of a year, they did lay off 13 staffers, but are still in business. The full details can be found on their website, as well as a chat log with Steve Jackson himself explaining what happened and how the company plans to deal with it. The long and the short of it is that although some projects may be pushed back in the production schedule (delayed), nothing has been canceled at this time. ----- Original Message ----- From: Utiel To: Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2001 7:47 PM Subject: Re: [BLUE PLANET] - GURPS Blue Planet > It is a very good notice.
