They are a cautious group now, fighting only when necessary, as pcs tend to get vaporized in combat. Of course, I am playing Spacemaster, where every hit has a 50% chance of causing a crit, and the everage crit is fatal 33% of the time and incapaciting 50% of the time....once you have seen a character disappear as a cloud of free floating atoms after taking a point blank burst from a Plasma Repeater Rifle, your fear of the New Character God is very real..... First I'd like to thank for the friendly welcome I have received. Then I have a little request. To prepare myself for the BP setting I got me an introduction to marine sciences. Now I am looking for more information about cetaceans. Recently I reread David Brin's "Startide Rising" which gives good clues about playing an uplifted dolphin character. But I need some "hard facts", too. (It is, IMHO, a pity that BPv2 doesn't include a list of reading recommendations.) Thus I would be very grateful if someone could name a good non-fictional book about dolphins and orcas. Yes, I really should get around to revising/expanding that stuff one of these months (time has been rather scarce lately). It's quite possible that the upcoming GURPS Transhuman Space playtest will be a source of influence as well... *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
