While it'll probably not appear in a product, what is to stop us from creating our own list. To that end, I offer the following: Sex and Violence in Zero G, by Allen Steele -This book is a collection of short stories set in Steele's near-future series. They're all gritty realistic/hard science tales, but with wit and humor. The stories range from early near-Earth exploration, to the outer asteroid belt and beyond. -BP inspirations: well, if you wonder what things are like for those who are likely not on Earth or Poseidon, here are a number of examples. Steele also has a race of genetically altered Spacers who have some similarities to the ones in BP, or could also be pirated for inspiration. See, it's easy! Everybody join in! Please make sure it addresses one question of mine: what happens when you cross each of the human upgrade types. I have this mental picture of a Silva marrying a Cat, and the kids looking like Kermit and Miss Piggy's progeny in _Muppet Christmas Carol_. Oh, and are print versions of Undercurrents still available? I have the .PDF versions, but my printer is not the greatest.... And by all means, let me encourage you to do an update to your excellent little set of Gurps conversions. Gurps Biotech is likely to be all that you need. And since I hear that Fluid Mechanics is likely to have some vehicles in it, I would love to see a few of them show up (I still remember your 2300 AD designs--very good indeed). The one thing I can't do well at all is animals. Any chance you can convert Poseidon's flora and fauna? Or perhaps know somebody who can? Anyway, I'm looking forward to anything you can do when you get the time. Thanks for what you've done so far. Well, GURPS Bestiary 3rd ed. is coming out soon, and that contains lots of new material on how to do characters based on animals ( oh, and I also contributed material for the new edition ;-). With G: Bestiary and G: Bio-Tech, you should be able to come up with any sort of BP character species you can think of. There's a dolphin template and character included in G: Bestiary, IIRC (I've only seen the rough draft, and that was *before* it was playtested, so I don't know what made it to the final book.) It should be easy enough to extrapolate an orca template from that. The different humanoid species can be done fairly easily using G: Bio-Tech. - Fixer :-) *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
