I don't know exactly how to confuse it, but if you just want to blind it, just get a brighter light source for a second or two; it'll show up as a big flare on low-light amplifiers, and those wearing them will be disoriented for a few seconds. -- ChrisTheS ----- Original Message ----- From: "Seahawk" To: "Blue Planet List" Sent: Friday, October 05, 2001 5:34 PM Subject: [BLUE PLANET] - night vision > > > Does anybody have any good ideas for how to confuse night vision equipment > or mods? The big problem is your group will be moving, the human eye is much more sensative to movement. Things that will help: stay low, people tend not to look down. Go high people tend not to look up either. Move in time with natural movements, wind animals etc. Where camoflage based on dark blues and greens, not Black (it is too dark). I have had people walk right past me in the open in braod daylight. Crouching on a rock outcrop just below foot level, nothing but scraggly brambles for cover, and yet people walk right by. Just don't move. Use any available cover. The problem is there is no "cloak of invisibilty" in BP so you need to ensure that the guard is not looking for the group. The problem with flash grenades is they say very loudly "Hay! here we come." A decoy might be the best way to distract the sentry. Even a large dog could be used. Cows, or the hide in a flock of sheep trick from the Odyssey can also work, although sheep tend to be quite skittish around strangers. hope this helps --dave *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
