Official response of the topic from Jeff Barber: http://www.visi.com/~seahawk/BP/sealions.html Unofficial rules for Sea Lions: http://www.visi.com/~seahawk/BP/sealionstats.html There really wasn't much mention of them in the official rules, they had a brief mention of them under the Athena project. I suppose it was an idea. I've been looking at reworking them into uplifted Sea Otters for my campaign. Reading up on the lions I found out they're like 150 lbs, a little bigger than what I'd first thought of them, hence Otters fit better with my view. *-*-*-*=*=*=*=*-*-*-* Chad Chirhart seahawk@visi.com On Mon, 22 Oct 2001 Cjbeiting@aol.com wrote: > Some time ago, there was a thread on this list about sea lions in Blue > Planet, 1st edition. Evidently there was a brief mention of them having been partially uplifted and being used as the equivalent of underwater guard dogs. Someone also had a very nice page setting them up as characters for the first edition of the rules. Reason for my question: I rather liked the idea, and was going to bring it into BP v2 if I ever play. My question: how much was in the offical rules? Can anyone tell me what was in the first edition, and in Archipelago, if they were mentioned there? I have always assumed that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of small refueling stations scattered throughout the PA. What are these stations like and what kind of people operates them? I keep imagining them as a small building with a single family living there or maybe a former criminal on parole. These stations would have a Commcore Uplink, Hydrogen still, fresh water supply, a solar power panel array and a navigation becon. The fueling station might also double as a small inn complete with a food service. I can only imagine the different plot hooks that such a place can provide. As such stations would also double as navigation aids, I suspect that GEO also might partially support them as well. Hmmm.... They'd make great safehouses... Food for thought....
