This sort of comment is far from uncommon, and there seems to be something of a divide amongst fans on this issue. I was wondering, if the game starts doing as well as it deserves (which in my mind means every gamer would have a copy, but something a little less would probably do) what are the chances of a print run with the original format? I realise I know next to nothing about costs and so on involved in this, and I remember Jeff saying that the v2 was a condition of the FFG deal, but there certainly seem to be a large number of people who prefered the original look. Most people on the list will be here because of v1. Thus, there is likely to be a bias in its favour. So, a survey now won't tell you much. (And, of course, anyone who can comment on v1 bought it, and thus was attracted by something, quite possibly the cover. People here have bought v2, although the cover would put them off.) Sure, I realise that. I wasn't trying to get an accurate picture of the state of things at large, just an idea of the preferences of this list. I thought about asking my local games club what they thought too, if I wanted a more general view. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that worldwide these frozen ocean hydrates could provide 400 million trillion cubic feet of natural gas -- 80,000 times the amount of gas now in known natural gas reserves. BPv2 is the present. The world is the same, even if the character creation and combat system have changed. The overwhelming strength of this game is the background and unique environment. Whether or not the pages have neat borders or the cover is more colorful now than it was before is kinda missing the point of the whole game!!!!!! However, I don't want *anyone* to be concerned that our feelings are going to be hurt by criticism. I think the list should be wide open for criticism, as long as it stays civil. We know that nothing we do is going to appeal to everybody equally, but we *want* our fans to tell us what they like and don't like. And we do listen. Several people have mentioned the fact that the section headers are harder to distinguish than they need to be. Jeff and I both agree with that, and I'm going to try to address it in the First Colony layout. We we *always* try to improve with each and every book, though we realize that different folks will have different ideas about what constitutes an "improvement." In short, always feel free to tell us what you think. We've received more than our fair share of praise for Blue Planet, and we can certainly handle a little criticism. We won't hold it against you. :) Greg Benage FFG *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe blue_planet' as the body of the message.
