But Excel did all the real work.) Gotta look at it with a monowidth font, tho. Format: Origin Background Total Stat add/subtract add/subtract add/subtract Awareness 4/1 4/3 8/4 Charisma 1/5 2/6 3/11 Education 4/5 2/6 6/11 Experience 3/2 10/1 13/3 Initiative 1/1 1/1 2/2 Intellect 1/0 0/6 1/6 Will 0/1 7/3 7/4 Agility 2/0 0/0 2/0 Appearance 1/1 2/1 3/2 Constitution 3/1 1/2 4/3 Dexterity 0/1 0/0 0/1 Endurance 4/4 1/1 5/5 Speed 0/0 0/0 0/0 Strength 0/1 0/0 0/1 Specificly, how exactly is one to create a character that's charismatic, educated, or (particularly) intellectual? Admittedly, it's possible, but not very likely. Also, stats are (justifiably) difficult to raise with ChIPs. I guess my questions are: Was this intentional? What's a recommended fix? If it's intentional, I guess my response would have to be, "Well, okay." The fix I've been using to date is to allow players to use the ChIPs they get from character generation to buy skills at 1:1, and stats at 10:1. Always subject, of course, to GM approval This means a lot of things, mostly that characters get hobbies. As it is, a technician could never have, for instance, a passion for still holography or strategy, unless they'd gotten some points from origin or background. The same technician couldn't really ever have a hobby, and enough skill to be considered an engineer. (Yes, a player in my game just created a Technician, which is what brought this to the fore, along with the logistics involved in another character concept I had, a 'fin Teacher/part time Shaman.) ANYWAY, enough rambling and whining. Just noticed this and thought I'd bring it up for the list to overanalyze. Let the games begin. -- +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= "I never get involved in my own life.
