ATTENTION ALL PASSENGERS ... THIS IS THE CAPTAIN SPEAKING ... A GREATER WHITE HAS JUST BEEN SIGHTED OFF THE PORT BOW ...
Hello Everyone, Thanks for all the Archipelago Contest entries. We are most impressed with the quality of the work, and are pleased that BP has such literate and talented players. Now it's time to pick for your favorite. As you vote, remember that you are picking the actual introduction for the Archipelago sourcebook, and that the winner should reflect what you feel best represents the world of Blue Planet and the nature of the Pacifica Archipelago. Make your choice with care, and be sure to pick the one that you truly feel represents the essence of life on the new frontier. Again, thank you for your submissions, and thank you for taking the time to cast your vote. Jeff Barber Biohazard Games

Now that I have your attention ; ), we have some cool news. Biohazard is pleased to announce its first online contest and would like to encourage any and all of you to participate. Here are the particulars. As you know we are in the final production stages of Archipelago, the first Blue Planet supplement, (I know, we've been at it a while now...) and we would like to get BP fans involved! Every good book needs a cool introduction, and every good adventure story needs style and color. We want to combine both, and here is where the contest comes in. We invite any and all of you, regardless of writing experience, to submit an 800 - 1000 word fiction piece that you think would serve as a cool introduction to the Archipelago sourcebook. It can be about anything;
Therein lies the contest and your chance at immortality (well the chance to get your name in a BP book anyway. ; ) Ya' see, the winning entry will be published in Archipelago as the book's introduction. Cool huh? You actually get a chance to help shape the world of Blue Planet. But wait, don't order yet, there's more ... I wanted to take the winner to some exotic south Pacific Archipelago for a paradise vacation. Unfortunately the accounting guys said, and I quote, "ah...no." (Thanks guys, now what am I going to do with all this combination sun screen/greater white repellent?). Anyway, we obviously had to compromise, so here is what the winner actually gets - a copy of Archipelago, signed by all the contributors to the project! (And there was much rejoicing!) The rest of you will win...er...well...our undying attitude...I mean gratitude. The winner will be selected by the best judges of all, you all, the fans and players of Blue Planet. We will be posting the entries, as they come in, on a special contest area of our website, and there will be an interface where you can vote via email. You simply pick the one you like the best, and submit your vote. (Only one vote per email address please ... Big Brother is watching ... well at least glancing over his shoulder once in a while) ; ) For those that might need a bit of a reminder, or some inspiration, some promotional text describing Archipelago follows: The first Blue Planet supplement, this book brings to life the islands of the Pacifica Archipelago, the most heavily colonized region of Poseidon. Archipelago contains maps and detailed descriptions for select regions and settlements within the Archipelago, as well as profiles for over a dozen of the major personalities that call the colony world home. The book also contains regional additions to the GEO field guide and the latest discoveries regarding Poseidon's enigmatic aborigines. Archipelago is awash in player background and moderator secrets alike, and is an indispensable guide to anyone who plays Blue Planet. Here are the nuts and bolts of the contest: 1. Entries must be between 800 and 1000 words, original work, provocative and colorful. 2. Entries will be accepted between now and the 5th of March. Submit entries within the body of an email message ( BiohazardG@AOL.com), and write "Contest Entry" in the subject line. 3. Voting will start on the 5th, and run though the 10th. One vote per email address please. 4. The winner will have his/her entry published and credited as part of Archipelago, and will receive a signed copy of the book. Fine Print - Biohazard reserves the right to edit the final entry, and omit any entries the editors deem inappropriate. Well, what are you waiting for? Get writing!
